 TO RECAP...

iCloset is an app that allows its users to take their closets on the go with them. This is possible by allowing the user to scan the clothing tags into their smartphones or type a description of their item and allow iCloset to search the Internet to find the item. After the user downloads their entire closet, they are allowed the capability to mix and match outfits as well as share these outfits with friends and family. A special feature that iCloset has is that it also allows you the opportunity to look within other people’s iCloset’s once they have given you permission to do so. By having this option, you can see if one of your friends has an item or clothing you would like. You can then either have iCloset find this item of clothing online for you to purchase or you can place this item of clothing in a “wants” folder for later purchasing.

As the weeks have gone on and my peers have commented on my blog posts, I’ve continued to think of ways to expand and make iCloset a better more innovative app. One thing I would like to be able to add to iCloset would be the ability to include accessories like shoes, handbags and jewelry. Adding these items to iCloset would the same as adding clothing, scanning tags or searching by the items description. I think by adding these addition items, it allows the users to make much more detailed and full outfit options as opposed to just having the clothing.

In regards to the “wants” folder, I think that since everyone is always looking to save a few dollars here and there it would be convenient for iCloset to search the web for the cheapest versions of the items within this folder. iCloset could send its user an alert when an item within their wants folder comes on sale allowing the user to purchase this item at its lowest price. Similarly I think a feature that shows the users their items within their wants folder that may not be the exact name brand but look the same just a little cheaper would be convenient as well.
In order to make iCloset a reality, I would have to research first into how to create an app. There are many technical restrictions in creating and forming an app that I would have to delve into before iCloset could become a working app available in the app store. In order to begin this I would have to obtain Apple, Google Android and Blackberry’s API’s as well as getting them for both Facebook and Twitter to I could incorporate social media into the app. After registering as a developer for these different phones and receiving their API’s I would have to hire a coder as well as someone to help with designing.
All in all creating iCloset would take hard work from numerous different people before it could become a reality. Many programs do exist that are similar to the idea of iCloset just not as advanced and containing all of the details blogged about. As apps continue to become more and more advanced however the already existed closet apps will continue to evolve.

Ever wish you could shrink your closet down and carry it around with you in your pocket? iCloset, a free an easy to use app, allows you to do just this. It scans and finds all of the clothing within your closet and allows you to create and share outfits.
Although iCloset is an app for your smartphone, because there is in fact a computer within your phone, you are at risk when it comes to computer security. This includes a lot of different things including hackers. iCloset works extremely hard to keep everything you share completely private. iCloset runs an antivirus application extremely frequently in hopes to keep out any unwanted viruses or bugs that could infect your iCloset.
In order to protect your phone and your iCloset, we would like to give you some prevention tips.
1.     Password protection
2.     Use unique identifiers
3.     Limit access
4.     Backup iCloset
If you follow those tips you should be fine and have your iCloset stay completely safe!

iCloset is a free app that provides users the ability to take their closets with them wherever they go. By using iCloset, you can not only always have your closet but you can make and share outfits extremely easily. This app is compatible with a variety of phones and services and works very hard to please all users.

Although iCloset is an app for a smart phone, it still uses operating systems just as much as if it were on an actual computer. An operating system is a set of programs that manage computer hardware resources and provide common services for application software. There are many different types of operating systems with the most well known being Mac and Windows. Two addition operating systems that are not as well known are Unix and Linux. In relation to iCloset, the two operating systems that iCloset works mostly with happen to be both Mac and Windows because they are what is on the majority of smartphones that are compatible with this app.

There are many different classifications for operating systems. These include:
  • Multi-User
  • Multiprocessing
  • Multitasking
  • Multithreading
  • Real Time

A mobile operating system is what iCloset works with since it is an app for a smart phone. These mobile operating systems include Symbian, Android, Apple iOS, RIM Blackberry and Windows phone along with a few others. iCloset works hard to be able to be compatible on all of these mobile operating systems and continues to try and update to work out any kinks that could occur. Both Apple’s iPhone and RIM Blackberry have unique operating systems that seem to be most popular with iCloset users.

iCloset is a free app that allows for its users to take their closets on the go with them. This app allows you to plan outfits from the touch a button as well as share them just as easily. It is completely safe and extremely easy to use and understand.

Cloud computing has become increasingly popular especially with the new addition to the iPhone called iCloud. Cloud computing allows users to back up files and information without using an actual external hard drive or device to save things on. With iCloset, this new feature is extremely helpful in saving users closets. Instead of worrying about breaking your phone and losing all of the outfits you’ve previously made, you can back up all of your outfits by using this cloud computing technique.

iCloset works together with Photoshop so that users have the ability to put their faces into the images of their outfits. Photoshop is a great graphics-editing program that allows its users to pretty much do anything to pictures in regards to effects. There are multiple versions that can be downloaded and used that allow users to do a variety of different things. Photoshop helps iCloset with the various effects we use to help our users view their outfits.

iCloset loves the advantages that both cloud computing and Photoshop offer. We encourage our users to explore more into both!

TechCrunch (techcrunch.com) is an online blog that focuses on profiling startups, reviewing new Internet products and breaking all tech news. Michael Arrington, a serial entrepreneur, started this blog in 2005. Since then it has grown immensely with many writers and contributors that seem to get over 37 million page views per month.

Anything you ever wanted to know regarding technology and startups can be searched for and found within TechCrunch. There are four clickable categories on their home page, News, Mobile, Opinion and Startups. Some of today’s headlines include, “Huawei Officially Announces the ICS-Powered Ascend D Quad Smartphone” and “Hands-On With LG’s (Huge) Optimus Vu”. Both articles include pictures of the described gadgets as well as the author includes clickable links in green within the article so that the reader can continue to investigate into the gadget being described.
I really enjoyed reading and looking through a variety of articles on TechCrunch. I think the bloggers do a really good job of keeping their ideas fresh and new within the technology world. Each article includes pictures of the gadget being described as well as many other things aside from just regular text like timelines and background info. The only part of the blog that I found distracting where the advertisements that continued to move while I was trying to read the page. TechCrunch is a large blog that is continuing to expand so I do understand the need for such advertisements.

As technology continues to evolve and apps become more and more popular, there are many new and different apps that fall into the same category as iCloset. These are the two best examples:

http://closetapp.com/#
A current app that exists is called Closet- Clothing Organized. This app allows similar features as iCloset such as allowing for you to plan outfits as well as share these outfits with friends and family. iCloset has the ability to work on multiple types of devices other then the iPhone while Closet- Clothing Organized is only compatible with one phone, the iPhone. Another difference is this app requires you to take pictures of each item of clothing while iCloset allows you to scan the tags of clothing as well as finds your items online to provide details for each item. Closet-Clothing Organized is currently available to buy for $2.99 while iCloset is free.

http://123dressme.com/#home
123dressme, similar to Closet-Clothing Organized, is another app that allows you to take your closet on the go. 123dressme allows users to create an endless amount of outfits as well as share them with friends and family on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. A nice feature that 123dressme has is that it allows you to filter your clothes and outfits by the live weather channel. This idea of being able to plan outfits based on a live weather update is very unique and something iCloset is sure to look into. Both 123dressme and iCloset are free apps but while iCloset works on numerous devices, 123dressme is only compatible with the iPhone.

Although both Closet-Clothing Organized and 123dressme are great alternatives, iCloset has the most diverse features for its user:
  • Free service
  • Endless sharing capabilities
  • Compatible with multiple mobile devices
  • Sharing capabilities with friends and family
  • Ability to look through other iClosets
  • Able to scan tags to record clothing
  • Keeps a “wants” folder
  • Updates security daily

....... just to name a few

iCloset, an easy to use app that allows for your closet to always be with you. Never lose track of your clothes, share outfit ideas with friends and family as well as find new items you wish to buy now or in the future. This app is completely safe and user friendly!

FACT 18-29 year olds account for almost 30% of identity theft complaints
iCloset takes this fact very seriously. To prevent this from happening iCloset...
  1. Will never share your personal information with anyone
  2. Work extremely hard to keep all information safe
  3. Update and check security daily

iCloset is compatible with a multiple array of phones including the iphone, blackberry and droid. As more smart phones come out, iCloset will try to be able to function on as many different types of phone as possible. Similarly, iCloset can be uploaded and saved to your personal computer as well.

Because iCloset is an app it is limited to the amount of memory it can use on any given smart phone. iCloset is trying very hard to make sure it continues to adjust to newer phones with higher amounts of memory to provide you with the best available app. iCloset recommends you save your outfits frequently and to be safe, keep a saved copy of your iCloset on your computer.
