What is it?
iCloset is an app allowing
you to take your closet on the go, making it available for you to look and
share no matter where you are or what you're doing. It is a fun and easy
way to always know what you have and what you want or need to add to your
wardrobe. You can not only keep track of everything you own but also construct
possible outfits as well as share these outfits with friends and family. Sometimes you just don't have time
to try on the outfit you picked out for your grandparents 50th anniversary
party so you construct it on iCloset and send the picture to your mom for
approval. Also, you and your friends
can look through each others iCloset's to either help make outfits for one
another or even to see if one of your friends has something you may want to
borrow or even purchase. iCloset allows you to upload a picture of yourself and
will put your face on any outfit you decide to make.
How Do You Use It?
Once downloaded, you can begin to transfer
your real closet onto iCloset by either scanning the tags of the
clothes or if you're one of those people who rips the tags off of the clothes
the minute you leave a store, you can easily type in the brand,
style and color of the garment and iCloset will search the web for the piece of
clothing you are referring to. Using iCloset you can sort your clothing however
you would like; by color, style, season, occasion, however you want. You are
able to organize your closet multiple ways and save each way so that they can
be drawn upon whenever you want. For example if you are going to a black-tie
event, you may want to click on the option to sort your iCloset by occasion but
if you are just simply looking for a pair of jeans, you would want to sort it
by type of clothing.
Other Capabilities...
The same way iCloset will store the
clothes you already own, it will also store the clothes you wish to own in the
future. If you're walking through the mall and come across a pair of jeans that
are just a little out of your price range right now, you can simply scan the
tag to iCloset and store it in a "wants" folder. iCloset will
then notify you if and when this particular item goes on sale and where you can
then go and purchase it. Similarly, if you are browsing through your best
friend's iCloset and see a dress you think would be perfect on you, iCloset
will try to find the exact dress or something extremely similar online for you
to purchase. 
Great use of graphics in your blog. It really enhances the reading experience. I can see people of similar fashion interests of collaborating to make outfits and it is interesting that you are even bringing in the parental aspect to it for family events. Sounds like it was spawned from real experience.
ReplyDeleteThis app seems very easy to use and extremely useful for college students, like myself who are always having difficulty picking out outfits!! This concept is something i think girls would really enjoy because everyone is always looking for new and easy ways to determine when they need clothes and to see exactly what clothes they have, especially if they are in a messy closet like mine!
ReplyDeleteHaving three sisters, I could see them all using this app a lot. They are always in a rush to put together outfits and can never get places on time because of it. This app would give girls more time throughout the day because as people know, girls tend to take a long time on their outfits. The concept is great and seems very easy to use which is exactly what you want in an app.
ReplyDeleteI am so completely in love with this idea. It’s easy to use, makes picking clothes less time consuming, and it definitely makes a girl’s life easier. I hate having to get dressed before an event because I end up tearing my closet apart trying on ten different outfits to decide what I am going to wear. It’s terrible…especially having to come back afterwards and hang up the piles of clothes that I had tried on in a hurry before. A cool add on would be if the program could maybe give suggestions of outfits that you could possibly combine or maybe show you how other people are combining their outfits with items that both users have in common. Another possible add on, although pretty hard to create, would be maybe the ability to combine jewelry and accessories that you own as well.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! I always forget what I have in my closet so it would be great to see what I have without actually looking. It would be really nice if this app could suggest outfits for you though. I'm not very good at putting pieces together and accessorizing so if this could do it for me it would save me a lot of time and stress in the morning!
ReplyDeleteGreat formatting, especially the graphics! I want this app just based on the text. But the visual component made me want it even more.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I don't like about the app is the limit of sharing with only 5 users a week. How would you share an outfit with your sorority like you mentioned? I feel as though it is unnecessary to limit the user. It should be their responsibility to make sure they are being smart about who they share with.
